Kiev Riot Video

Kiev Riot Video

May 8, 2014 gavin.sealey Comments 0 Comment

This is a remarkable video. I’m posting it as a note. It shows the extraordinary violence of the Ukranian protesters in February and gives the lie to allegations that Yanukovych was brutally suppressing the demonstrations. The police are shown to be exercising great restraint.

Comment on Putin

Comment on Putin

May 6, 2014 gavin.sealey Comments 0 Comment

I made a comment on an article I read in RT.

Putin is a pragmatist, he will not invade Ukraine. Why should he take on a deeply divided nation with a troubled economy? Crimea was the prize and the Kiev coup handed that to him at no cost. The chaos in Ukraine will act as a warning to pro western dissenters in Russia. Putin will support the anti Kiev Ukrainians diplomatically and defend his borders militarily. He will not overreach and be forced into making mistakes but will use the momentum of his more powerful opponents against them.

William Engdahl on Ukraine

William Engdahl on Ukraine

May 6, 2014 gavin.sealey Comments 0 Comment

In this interview William Engdahl looks at the global context of the trouble in Ukraine showing it for what it is, an attempt by those who run the US and NATO (the ‘Military-Industrial Complex’ or the ‘Military-Industrial-Financial-Intelligence-Oil Complex’), with the partial collusion of the EU, to dominate the globe.

There is no doubt in my mind that analysts like Engdahl, Stephen Cohen and Webster Tarpley are correct in their argument that the US engineered the protests in Ukraine and supports fascists there just as it supports Islamist extremists in Syria. Engdahl shows too that the US is intent on isolating China and Russia which has of course strengthened the alliance between those two countries.

It’s sad that what passes as news in the mainstream media rarely includes this sort of analysis.

The Bouncy Castle and the Pagoda

On Saturday, at Lisa’s baby shower I sat in a bouncy castle, Sunday, on my birthday, I sat in Victoria Park Pagoda. The small child in the foreground watched me, waited patiently and then, when I got up, imitated my gesture by sitting in the same place and pose.

Sanddornbalance

Sanddornbalance

Miyoko Shida’s performance is a meditation that demonstrates that it is possible to bring balance to the different elements of our lives through cultivating patience, stillness and attention. The structure she creates is a visualisation and expression of inner quietude, balance and harmony and we are grateful that she has, even for a moment, recalled us to the understanding that creating space for these qualities within is at least as important as anything we can create externally.

Miyoko’s act is called Sanddornbalance. She did not originate it:

For more than 15 years .. Mädir Rigolo ..[was] the only performer until he took the decision to share his experience and transfer his knowledge to a small number of selected artists who .. now on carry on the tradition of Sanddornbalance in their own individual style and adaptation.
Thus, nowadays there is a celebrated Sanddornbalance at Cirque du Soleil’s Amaluna, performed by Mädir’s daughter Lara Rigolo (Nestruck’s Top 10 in 2012). Or the powerful and energetic interpretation by Memet Bilgin Rigolo in Australia. We meet the mysterious elegance presented by Japanese dancer and choreographer Miyoko Shida Rigolo. We listen to and watch Naima Rhyn Rigolo who enriches the performance with the sonority of her voice.

Mädir Eugster himself will not stop performing himself – no way – but will surprise audience with a new creation Wings in My Heart in 2014.

Fighting the Ghouls

Fighting the Ghouls

May 1, 2014 gavin.sealey Comments 0 Comment

I wrote on Facebook:

“Stuart Wilde died exactly one year ago. I liked his style of writing a lot even though some of the things he says are weird. I didn’t know that it was the anniversary of his death and wasn’t looking for this kind of article so it’s one of those synchronicity things. Anyway the advice is good and rather more profound than most of the stuff on Lifehack.”

Here are some Perception and Safety Ideas to Remember.

* One needs discipline to calm the mind or your darkness comes out and pulls in the ghouls. So don’t allow yourself to spin off on a tangent into some big upset that lasts hours and hours. That is not safe. And don’t fight with people, let them go. Agree to lose, it is safer. Be a Taoist; don’t confront, walk away, keep to your dignity at all times.

* Next, keep your life ordered and Zen-like in its cleanliness. This is a form of protection. The ghouls like clutter and dirt and confusion. And they are drawn to anyone of out control and stressed out.

* Then, stay away from anything degrading, violent films or degrading images and news on TV, and as said, stay away from pornography. This is the biggest ghoul-attracter as it comes out of the slaver’s mentality. You need clean celestial images in your mind to stay safe.

* Stay away from poisonous and dangerous places. Don’t put yourself at risk by hanging out with dodgy people that hurt your luminosity, and by going to degrading places.

*Use your feelings to decide things so the ghouls can’t pull you the wrong way by feeding your thinking mind with loads of misinformation.

* Stay calm, remember the adage: no fear no anger.

* Drink camomile even if you don’t like it. Drink lots of it, for it makes the ghouls sick.

* Use a drop of lavender on your crown chakra, third eye, throat and heart. Use that to anoint yourself. Do it every morning. Pray as you do it; be grateful.

* Use lavender in the bath and put a few drops of it on a towel when you dry yourself.

* Do the forgiveness prayer I taught people, whereby you go on your knees and beg forgiveness for your transgressions in the past. Do it for thirty days even if you have done it before. Blow love to the people you hurt and those that are trying to hurt you…

* Try to be a vegetarian if you are not one already. It helps greatly with your perception, as you become more alkaline.

* Remember the law of allowing: let everyone be whatever they want to be. Let them wake in their beds and believe whatever they want to believe. Don’t judge and don’t criticize; if you don’t like it, either bear it, or move on. By not entangling yourself you stay safer.

* Learn to suffer in silence. It is pointless moaning as it calls the ghouls to your pain. Look within when you are in pain. Accept your life as it comes, and then change the bits you can later on.

*Do a three-day fast from time to time if that’s medically appropriate for you. It makes you serene and celestial.

*Go to silence as a discipline, not talking for a day at a time heals you. Be brave. Walk along the bank of the Tao and trust in the power of that and your power and let that carry you forward with information and God’s inspiration.

God is the Universe

God is the Universe

April 29, 2014 gavin.sealey Comments 0 Comment

God did not create the Universe because God is the Universe. Both terms refer to the Totality of all that is. Totality can have no cause outside itself. The enterprise of science is to understand the physical structure of the Universe (space, time, energy, matter) including its fundamental laws or modes of
behaviour. The enterprise of religion is to determine whether and in what way our perception that consciousness (intentionality and awareness) is fundamental to the Universe is true and how that fundamental consciousness relates to our individual consciousness.

I put this video together as an exercise last month using a cartoon strip at Zen Pencils. Credit to Gavin Aung Than for the pictures and Mladost Club found at freemusicarchive.org for the music. I think it works well and I’m thinking of doing more of this.

Ray Jasper’s Letter

Ray Jasper’s Letter

April 29, 2014 gavin.sealey Comments 0 Comment

Ray Jasper was executed on March 19th. His letter is a last testimony and what he has to say is remarkable. He is not talking about his own situation but about the position of black people and a system that persistently disadvantages them and in prisons equates or near equates to slavery. Here’s a quick quote:

A French woman who moved to America asked me one day, ‘Why don’t black kids want to learn?’ Her husband was a high school teacher. She said the white and asian kids excel in school, but the black and hispanic kids don’t. I said that all kids want to learn, it’s just a matter of what you’re trying to teach them. Cutting a frog open is not helping a black kid in the ghetto who has to listen to police sirens all night and worry about getting shot. Those kids need life lessons. They need direction. When you have black kids learning more about the Boston Tea Party than the Black Panther Party, I guarantee you won’t keep their attention. But it was the Black Panther Party that got them free lunch.
